Vertical Dance Intermediate Qualification

Vertical Dance Intermediate Course

Another day in pole paradise learning how to properly demonstrate all those intermediate moves. I have been practising these and teaching them for a while and wanted to confirm what I was doing was right. Learnt some fab adaption’s to moves & a enjoyed a full day learning. I teach so much its hard to keep some energy left for me. Today was all about my learning! Loved it! And loved seeing how far Helen ( ex student ) has come along. She really is loving that pole! Well Done 😀 xxx

Very proud of myself as I managed to nail the Spin & Snap ( Or Snap & Spin? ) I had a ‘Ouchey’ experience with it some months back and never went back to it as was in fear of it ( Nemesis!!!) Today KT Coates pushed me to try it again and after some pauses I managed to finally nail it …. Now to polish it and make it stronger  😀   Thank You KT for all your encouragement – Great seeing you again 😀 xxx

Photo shoot for Pocket Pole Studio iphone app

pocket pole studio iphone appIts amazing  the opportunities that Pole Dancing has brought into my life.. and the different connections and friendships that I have made.. especially when you get a message out of the blue asking if you will be willing to participate in the creation of the First comprehensive Pole Dance App!!

Photograoher Adam Jay of 1st Image Studios, London is creating an application for iphone that teaches you how to pole dance. I was lucky enough to work with Mari of Sugar Pole Fitness, Carly of Make Me Fabulous, Spinderella & Jenni of South Pole Akademy. An eventful day and pictures soon to be released after the app goes live.

Watch this space!! 🙂

Do your bit for charity!

pole dance for sport reliefI’ll be honest. I can’t run to save my life. I will never do a marathon nor do I ever want to. A marathon is a long ol’ way! Training my body to endure that much pain, dedicating that much time just running? I have no interest in it (“That running looks great on you darling!” …not me!)

A Pole-a-thon however…. Now we’re talking! So when Polenastics asked us to help out for their Pole-a-thon for Sport Relief…. Well, a couple of us had to represent and get involved didn’t we? Held in Lloyds Bar, Milton Keynes we headed over to be tagged in on the pole action. J My girls made me very proud, showing some brilliant technique and so much courage to get up on the pole. I however had misplaced my brain and forgot everything when I was up there! Stage Fright, but brilliant to be part of such an amazing night!

Deb Riley Masterclass

deb riley masterclassSo I have just come back from a masterclass with Deb Riley Of British Pole Academy! I’d seen Debs Pole Journey on YouTube and was in awe of her strength & determination. When Debs says ALL Day Master Class she means ALL day…… 8 HOURS!!! It was brilliant! I tried Aerial Hoop for the first time which I LOVED & met a lady called Bex aka. Triple x Bex of Trixters Pole Fitness who is as strong as an OX! I also spent some quality time with Faye aka Spinderella who is equally as talented on the pole, Pippa Caeser of Polenastics & Emily Smith Of Pole Fun were also on hand to provide endless motivation and inspiration! An amazing day!

Spin City Christmas showcase

nia pearce pole dancing instructorDuring 2009 I helped Kate Johnstone of Spin City behind the scenes as a pole cleaner for one of their shows. Kate kindly asked me to come back at Christmas and perform in their Christmas Showcase, I felt honoured to have been asked. This was my first ever Pole Performance in front of an audience, an ACTUAL audience! Scary as hell! I am amazed that I actually performed, as backstage whilst putting on my make-up, I could NOT stop my legs shaking! My routine was to ‘Be Somebody’ by Kings of Leon.

An awesome experience! Thank You Kate!

Workshop with Jessalyn Medairy

jessalyn medairy workshop So this is my first ever workshop! I thought it was about time that I take the plunge and start interacting with others in the Pole world.. and learn some new moves from skilled Pole Dancers! I had seen a Performer called Jessalyn Medairy at Pole Unity in June and thought she was amazing! The opportunity to do a workshop came up and I had a great time learning, floorwork, some advanced spins and tricks. I shared a pole with Carly Wilford of Make Me Fabulous & Lou Coburn of Polenastics. Both were encouraging, funny and sexy on the pole!

KT Coates Pole Jam

nia pearce pole jamOk so this is my first Pole Jam!! KT Coates of Vertical Dance held a Pole Jam this month @ her studios. She had taught me for my Vertical Dance Qualification the previous year so I trusted her and knew she would look after me. The truth was…. There are no rules at a Pole Jam. Polers go to learn from each other and I met some amazing people just on that first Jam! It opened my eyes massively and I was rather surprised (and star struck) to see some faces from YouTube! WOW! 🙂 What a great day! Pole Jams are awesome and DEFINITELY something that I am going to be doing ALOT more of 🙂
