Class Format

The Pole fitness course is structured in a typical ‘Vertical Dance’ Format ( Vertical Dance is the Pole Qualification I have )

Mobility – Mobilising joints before exercise using a full body approach.

Warm Up – Specifically Warming Up Muscles & Joints that will be used in the class

Main Workout – Learning & practicing spins, transitions ( moves linking spins & floorwork together ), floorwork

During the main workout the spins, transitions & floorwork will build on your strength, confidence, poise & grace ( shhhh…. you won’t even realize!! :D )

Cool Down & Stretch – Full Body Stretch incorporating specific muscle groups that will need stretching after your pole session.

Initially you will be learning spins, transitions & poses, these will encourage  general ‘pole awareness’ ( The space around the pole, the shapes your body can make around the pole & how your body moves & flows). The foundation of spins will build strength so you can in time be able to hold your own body weight at various angles on the pole …. Maybe even upside down ;)

Pole Dancing is a skill and skills need to be perfected. I teach anything from 4 to 8 different spins in your first course. I could teach you 20 different spins in your first course but if you walked away into the world with 20 moves that looked shabby, I would be letting you down! I want you to look sexy, skilled & feel confident in the way that you move on the pole.

After you have become ‘Pole Savvy’ & you are aware of the muscles needed for certain moves, have built up strength in the correct muscles groups you can further your Pole Skills by learning, Pole Sits, Holds, Climbs & Inverts.

Students are taken through each new move step by step & encouraged to work within their ability. Those sharing a pole ( 3 People to a pole per class ) will be taught correct spotting techniques so that each person moving onto these moves does so with minimal risk & maximal safety. Students can dip out of learning moves at any time & will not be pressured to do something they do not want to. It’s your class and I want you to enjoy your Pole Dancing experience.
